Allow me
to introduce myself. My name is Clarita Nolan.
I worked as a photographer, as well as a hair and makeup artist,
in the southern California area for over ten years. For a good
portion of that time I was in Hollywood specializing in portraits
and glamour photography. I have photographed celebrities and have
worked on many "shoots" with famous photographers. As
a member of Professional Photographers of L.A. County I won photographic
awards and was a board member for two years before my move to
the Sacramento area. I am currently a member of Professional Photographers
of Sacramento Valley.
As a graduate of Ohio Visual Arts Institute I have an understanding
of lighting and composition. With this knowledge I have the ability
to create "natural illusion", retain consistent lighting
and make photographs look completely natural.
This background prepared me for the world of digital art with
which, for the last 5 years, I have become more and more enamored.
I became intrigued early on by the possibilities that the digital
world presented. The ability to interweave fantasy and reality
with magic and mystery on film, in the same way that digital technology
has revolutionized the motion picture industry, is gratifying
to my artistic nature. I enjoy the opportunity to explore new
creative challenges in the field of visual art because within
the medium of digital photographic art, almost any illusion has
become possible, no matter how incredible.
Now, rather than working behind the camera myself, I am involved
in the post-production process. I augment, improve and manipulate
the photographs of others, to create gorgeous prints, or perhaps,
perfect negatives that can then be printed in any size and number
desired.
